Full Description: Complex incidents are particularly challenging to manage because they often evolve rapidly, involve significant hazards, and/or require innovative solutions. This course discusses how to overcome the unique challenges that complex incidents present. Topics include the need to rapidly recognize the incident's magnitude and cooperate with other commanders, strategies for promoting inter-disciplinary collaboration before an incident occurs, strategies for deconflicting competing priorities, how and when to establish a Unified Command, and how and when to transfer command.

Resources Required: This course utilizes digital delivery of materials. Students must download the attached documents to a digital device before the start of class and bring the device with them to class fully charged. If this is a consortium course, documents will be sent from them to download.

Reporting Instructions: Lodging, Meals, Per Diem and all other travel expenses are the responsibility of the student or the parent organization.
